As the chief executive officer of the district, Dr. Root is responsible for implementing all Board decisions and managing the instructional and non-instructional operations of the schools. In accordance with Board Policy 2110, Dr. Root also serves as a member of the district's governance team and has responsibilities to support Board operations and decision-making.

With Dr. Newman at the helm, the Educational Services Division coordinates district curriculum development, instructional programs and materials, professional development, district and state educational assessments, district technology services, federal and state-funded special projects, and categorical programs. The division also coordinates services for special needs students throughout the district including special education, English Learners, GATE, preschool, and intervention programs. Additionally, staff coordinates grant programs, school safety programs and supervises discipline policies and procedures.

Mr. Bommarito leads the Business Services Division to provide quality support to the educational programs of the District. This division provides excellent service through facilities planning, fiscal services, maintenance services, operations, transportation services, nutrition services, payroll services, and procurement services.

Under the leadership of Mr. McGough, the Personnel Division is dedicated to supporting the district's commitment of advancing the highest caliber of student learning for all children in an environment that is proactive, collaborative and respectful.  Responsibilities of this division include recruiting, supporting, and retaining the highest caliber individuals for MUSD schools and departments.
