To understand Callie Kirkpatrick Elementary school one must step back in time and explore the origins of our development.
Callie Kirkpatrick was a well educated and well mannered Southern woman who brought her social skills with her across the country. Though she had moved to the Wild West, she wanted her children to have a good education as well and through the efforts of her husband, the first school was built in 1890. Callie Kirkpatrick Elementary opened in July of 1992 and is located on the original land that was acquired by the Kirkpatrick Family under the Homestead Act of 1862. Our school was named to honor Callie Kirkpatrick’s pioneering spirit. Her efforts paved the way for our students to be Pioneers of the Future.
Callie Kirkpatrick's desire for a good education for her children still holds true today. We continue to work diligently to honor her vision, impacting the hearts and minds of the children we serve.
