Menifee Union School District has three Registered Nurses, who are credentialed by the State of California as School Nurses.
If you have any questions regarding your child's health or safety a health technician or district nurse is available to answer questions and provide assistance. The District’s school nurses oversee each school sites Health Office and are available during school hours. Each school has a Health Technician in the office during school hours to help care for your child.
District Nurses provide support to each school site in a variety of ways:

Writing Individualized School Healthcare Plans (ISHP) & Emergency Plans for students with health needs

Training and supervising Health Technicians to work at each of the school sites

Performing State mandated vision, hearing & scoliosis screenings

Managing school based emergencies

Reviewing Home/Hospital instruction requests

Consulting with teachers, parents, physicians, and other community resources on health and safety issues

Providing a process for identification and resolution of students' health care needs that affect educational achievement

Participating in Student Study Team (SST) and Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings

Supervising medication administration at school Assessing immunization and health records

Providing assistance in finding primary health care Providing a system for dealing with crisis medical situations

Monitoring mandated screening and immunization records
