NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the above named School District of Riverside County, California, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as “District”, will receive up to, but not later than the above stated time, sealed bids for the award of a contract for the above project.
Bids shall be received in the place identified above, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above stated time and place.
Each bid must conform and be responsive to the contract documents.
The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding.
No award shall be made for work under this contract unless and until the Contractor verifies to the District that the Contractor possesses all necessary insurance, permits, certificates and licenses, and will continue to be properly licensed throughout the term of the Contract. Any Contractor not so licensed is subject to penalties under the law.
Pursuant to provision of Section 1773 of the Labor Code of the State of California has obtained the general prevailing rate of per diem wages applicable for the work to be done, including but not limited to straight time, overtime holiday work; travel and subsistence payments; employee payments of health and welfare, vacation, pension and similar purposes. Said rate and scale are on file with the Menifee Union School District Purchasing Department and copies will be made available to any interested party on request. These rates shall be the minimum wage rates for this project. Throughout the period of work on this contract, the Contractor will be required to post a copy of said rate, and scale as required by Labor Code.
License: Contractors submitting a bid shall hold a valid California State Contractor’s License which shall be a Class C-27. The Contractor’s California State License Number and Classification shall be clearly stated on the Proposal.
No bidder may withdraw the bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening of bids.
Bonds are required and shall be in the form set forth in the contract.
The Contractor to whom the contract is awarded may avail the provisions of Government Code Section 4590 which allows certain securities to be substituted for monies withheld to ensure performance.
Consistent with Public Contract Code Section 20103.8 relating to the use of alternate bids, the lowest responsible bidder for the project shall be determined by the lowest bid price on the base bid only, without consideration of the prices on additive or deductive items.
Once the lowest responsible bidder has been selected, the District may determine to add to or deduct from the Contract any additive or deductive items.
In compliance with Federal Law, as contained in 40 CFR, Part 763.84(d), by receipt of this Notice, the contractor is hereby advised of the availability of information relative to the location of asbestos containing building materials (ACBM). The District assumes no responsibility for providing the Contractor with training or protective equipment.
Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Job walk: a pre-bid conference will be held at the District Office, Board of Education Room for attendance by any interested bidder with representatives of the District. Although the walk is highly recommended, it is not mandatory. The Pre-Bid Conference will commence at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, January 26, 2009: Location of the District Office Board of Education Room, 30205 Menifee Road, Menifee, Ca. 92584.
