GOVERNING BOARD GOALS 2011-2012
STUDENT LEARNING
- Continue to support improvement in academic achievement through District-wide engagement in both the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process and use of Explicit Directed Instruction (EDI) strategies.
- Continue and expand the use of collaborative coaching.
- Continue to focus on student attendance as it relates to academic improvement.
- Provide resources to sites to assist with the learning process.
COMMUNICATION
- Adhere to Board Protocols during Board Meetings and whenever functioning in a Board role.
- Ensure that timely and accurate information is provided to the community.
- Participate in community and District-sponsored events.
BUDGET AND FINANCE
- Practice fiscal responsibility to ensure the educational needs of our students along with the District’s long-term financial stability.
- Emphasize support for student learning in the budget development process.
- Remain fiscally prudent in the planning and construction of all future schools and use of existing District facilities.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
- Continue to participate in internal and external professional growth opportunities in support of Board goals and responsibilities.
