The assessment of student achievement is ongoing, both formally and informally. In addition to formal tests, teachers assess student progress and effort on a daily basis to provide a portrait of the students’ achievement. Student portfolios are one means of documenting student growth over achievement. Informal communication is encouraged on an ongoing basis between home and me. Progress reports are issued as needed and report cards are issued each trimester to assist in informing parents of student school.
The Stanford Achievement Test (SAT 9) is given to students in grades 2-8 each spring as mandated by the State of California. It is designed to measure student individual academic achievement in Mathematics and Language Arts. Overall, Menifee students scored in the average range. You may view more information about the SAT 9 and the STAR testing program on the California Department of Education’s Web site by clicking here: http://star.cde.ca.gov/.
