Announcing the Appointment of Jenny Thomas to serve as Interim Principal of the newly created Virtual School.

The MUSD Board of Trustees expressed interest in an opportunity to develop a virtual school. Educational Services applied for and was awarded a unique CDS code for the MUSD Virtual TK-8^th Grade School. In order for the school to flourish with vision and leadership, the MUSD Virtual School needs to have a strong leader. The principal position in the MUSD Virtual School provides for instructional leadership, cohesion with MUSD site leadership team, and collaboration with District high priority goals. Principals coordinate staff development and staff evaluations as well as run parent meetings and committees such as PTA/PTO, School Site Council, ELAC, etc. The position of principal is essential to promote a positive school culture and high expectations. Ms. Thomas was selected to serve in the interim position as her education, experience, and efforts align with the project.

The Virtual School is its own school that will open in August of the 2021-2022 school year. It provides an additional choice of education for parents, and is meant to be a long term commitment of enrollment in a virtual setting for years to come.
