Our Governing Board In Action

During the month of  December the Menifee Union School District Governing Board took the following actions:

• Mr. Reg Bennett was elected President of the Governing Board
• Mrs. Jacquelyn A. Johansen was elected Vice President of the Governing Board
• Mr .J. Kyle Root was elected Clerk of the Governing Board
• The position of Deputy Clerk to fulfill the responsibilities of the Clerk, in the Clerk’s absence, was left unfilled until the new Board Member is appointed.
• Mr. Bob O’Donnell was elected as District Representative to the Riverside County Committee on the School District Organization.
• Future Governing Board meetings will begin at 5:00PM, to be revisited in June.
• Conducted a Public Hearing about the Santa Rosa Charter Renewal Request for the purpose of taking input with regard to the Charter Renewal Request by the Santa Rosa Academy Charter School.
• Conditionally approved the Charter Renewal Petition for the Santa Rosa Charter Renewal for five years through June 2024, subject to the Charter School entering an updated Memorandum of Understanding with the District and aligning corporate documents, policies, procedures and handbooks with the Renewal Petition, no later than January 12, 2019.
• Approved the Independent Contractor Agreement with California Weekly Explorer, Inc., so the they can conduct an in-school assembly titled “Walk Through the American Revolution,” at Herk Bouris Elementary School
• Ratified the proposal increase for the feasibility geotechnical investigation for the Menifee Valley Middle School reconstruction project
• Appointed the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services, Dr. Kimberly Ann Huesing
• Ratified an agreement with RCOE for Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD).
• Approve an Independent Contractor Agreement with A.C.C.E.S.S., Inc. to conduct functional behavior assessments for special education students as needed.
• Approved an Independent Contractor Agreement with Southern California Psycho-Educational Services to conduct neuropsychological assessments for special education students as needed.
• Approved an Independent Contractor Agreement with Perry Passaro, Ph.D., who will conduct psycho-educational assessments for special education students as needed.
• Approved an Independent Contractor Agreement with Dr. James W. Koeppel, Psy.D who will conduct psycho-educational evaluations for special education students as needed.
• Approved the amendment to the Independent Contractor Agreement with Carmazzi Global Associates to provide document translation and interpretation services for Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs) in languages other than Spanish.
•  Accepted the Menifee Union School District Contract Sunshine Proposal for 2018/19 negotiations with the Menifee Teachers’ Association.
•  Approved Callie Kirkpatrick, Herk Bouris, Harvest Hill STEAM Academy, and Oak Meadows as school-wide Title 1 programs.
