Menifee Union School District Earns Two National Awards for Communications Excellence

The Menifee Union School District (MUSD) has been honored with two prestigious awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA), recognizing outstanding achievements in both podcasting via the “Limitless Futures” podcast and community engagement through our inaugural State of the District Event. NSPRA is a professional organization that provides training and resources to school leaders and communicators in the United States, Canada, and schools worldwide.

MUSD's "Limitless Futures" podcast received a 2025 NSPRA Award of Excellence in the Podcast category of the Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards. Hosted by school principals and parents, Stephanie Acosta and Jon Mitchem, the podcast explores the challenges and joys of raising children in today's world. It shares real-life stories and insights to help parents support their child's educational journey. You can listen to the podcast here.

Additionally, the district’s State of the District Event was recognized with a 2025 NSPRA Golden Achievement Award. The State of the District Event is an annual gathering that provides the community with a comprehensive look at the district’s achievements, goals, and financial health. This highly regarded award highlights the district's strategic work in public relations, communication, and community engagement. The event was praised for its successful efforts in connecting with and informing key partners.

The Board of Trustees is thrilled to see the district's communication efforts recognized on a national level. "These awards are a reflection of the hard work and passion of our entire MUSD team," said Board President Kyle Root. "We are committed to providing the best for our students, and that includes being transparent and engaged with the community we serve."

The Menifee Union School District was formally recognized at the 2025 NSPRA National Seminar in Washington, D.C. The Director of Communications and Community Engagement, Devina Ortega Castro, attended the event to accept the awards on behalf of the district.

The NSPRA Awards program honors excellence in school public relations, celebrating the strategic work and innovative communication initiatives that help schools and districts connect with their communities.
