Black History Month

February is Black History Month. It has become the month the nation recognizes as a time to celebrate the strides and achievements black people have accomplished over the centuries. The federally recognized celebration, as then-President Ford said in 1976, calls for all Americans to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”
