Arrival and Departure Procedures: Thank you for your patience and understanding of the arrival and departure procedures at The Ranch. Our doors and gates open at 7:25 A.M. There will be no adult supervision prior to that time. Students will be directed in to the school by staff to walk to their assigned section, corresponding to their classroom number, on the blacktop. Lower grade students: transitional kindergarten (tk), kindergarten (k), first (1st), second (2nd), special education (SpEd), and students who eat a school breakfast may be dropped-off and picked-up at the front of the school. Bicycle riders and walkers may also enter the school through the front door. Upper grade students; third (3rd), fourth (4th), and fifth (5th) may be dropped-off and picked-up at the back of the school. An older sibling of a student in a lower grade (e.g. 1st, or 2nd) will be permitted to join her/him and be picked-up at the front of the school. You may assist us by writing your students’ first and last name, and their teacher’s name, on a piece of paper and placing it on your vehicle’s windshield (passenger-side) to facilitate a safe departure of students. Please observe all safety guidelines, traffic flow and control signs, and adults helping to maintain a safe and orderly environment during student arrivals and departures. A parent arrival and dismissal area has been designated at the front of the site for those who walk their students to school. Please do not escort your students through the parking lot. There are moving vehicles present in the arrival and dismissal lane that may pose a hazard to students. Use crosswalks and sidewalks for pedestrian traffic. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
School Counseling: All schools in the Menifee Union School District use Second Step and Zones of Regulation curriculum for social and emotional development. Our counselor has been working with each of our classes (in collaboration with the teacher) presenting Social Emotional Learning lessons to students. The Ranch also has a dedicated website for counseling services. Here is the link to access it: Ms. Files – Counselor.
Student Daily COVID-19 Symptoms Check: Students who are not feeling well or are showing any COVID-19 symptoms before the start of school are required to stay home. Parents are required to perform a daily symptom check at home, including a temperature check, before sending their student to school. For the safety of all students, sick or ill students cannot remain on campus. Therefore, a parent must provide one or more local contact numbers of an individual(s), over the age of 18, who will be available to pick up the student in the event of an illness or injury. Any student who demonstrates or complains of any COVID-19-like symptoms will need to be picked-up by a parent, guardian, or an “emergency” contact adult immediately. Common COVID-19 symptoms include:
*Fever of 100.4 or higher or chills |
*Cough |
*New loss of taste or smell |
*Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing |
Headache |
Sore throat |
Fatigue |
Nausea or vomiting |
Congestion or runny nose |
Muscle Pain |
