The Great California Shake-Out 2019
On October 17, 2019, our school will participate in the Great California ShakeOut, the largest earthquake drill in U.S. History. Everyone will practice how to drop, cover and hold on. This is the chance for us all to practice what to do during earthquakes to reduce potential injuries. At 10:17 A.M., your child will drop to the ground, take cover under a table or desk, and hold on, at the same time as millions of other Californians. We are asking all parents of Kindergarten P.M. Students to arrive on time as the drill will be activated during drop-off. The P.M. teacher will meet the Kindergarten students at the normal drop-off location and then evacuate to the designated area. Earthquake preparedness is a responsibility of all Californians and we encourage you to also discuss earthquake readiness with your child and others at home, to take steps to get prepared, and to participate in the ShakeOut.
