Assistant Principal's Message

Dear Oak Meadows Families,

I am excited to be given the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal of Oak Meadows Elementary.  This will be my 3rd year as an assistant principal. Prior to this, I was a classroom teacher for 16 years in grades 3-5th.  I served in the United States Army first as an enlisted soldier and later as an officer in the National Guard. My husband and I have been stationed in beautiful places, our favorite place was Hohenfels, Germany in the Bavarian region. We have two amazing children, a daughter aged 18 and a son aged 17.

I am proud to serve alongside Mrs. Hollon, the principal, as we are committed to doing all we can to make this school year a successful experience for all scholars. I am delighted to be a part of this learning community. This year we will be dedicating our focus to improving our school attendance to 96%. Our gates open at 7:30 and with your help we can achieve that goal. Our teachers are busy implementing new strategies to accelerate student learning in all areas.

I look forward to continuing to get to know every one of you better, as we work together as a team to embrace, educate, and empower our students. Please know that my door is always open to you, so do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome your positive input throughout this year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Gillespie
