Dear Menifee Union Students, Staff and Families,
We reached the end of a school year that will not be forgotten. I visited many schools
for their end of the year “Clap Outs” and “Promotion Drive-Throughs,” I was
overwhelmed by the sense of pride and belonging among our students, staff, and
families. All of you made a challenging situation wonderful, Thank you!
The survey sent out to families regarding preference for instructional models for the
20-21 school year indicates that approximately 60% of our families desire to return to
Traditional school while 27% desire Blended, and still 13% indicate they will choose Full
Distance Learning. We certainly hope to return to Traditional School and will also offer
a Distance Learning option. If we are under social distancing restrictions on August 12,
MUSD will develop a blended/hybrid model. We will continue to communicate through
the summer to keep everyone informed on next steps.
On behalf of the Menifee Union School District, I want to address the tension and
awareness of injustice that has been seen and felt in our country in the wake of the
death of George Floyd. MUSD desires to value the diversity represented in our amazing
students, talented staff, and beautiful community. In MUSD, we are committed to
supporting school communities that value the voice, experience, and potential for ALL.
We hope that during this summer our students dream of the possibilities for a future of
success and a world that is better because of their impact. We look forward to the
opportunity to help them achieve these dreams.
