For Staff:

Menifee Union School District Emergency Planning Team (EPT) has developed the attached COVID-19 Protocol. Site Administrators, please ensure these protocols are shared with staff and posted in the health office.

TYPICAL SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

  • Mild to severe respiratory illness that is very similar to the flu.
  • Fever (100.4 and above) and any of the following:
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing

If you see these symptoms developing in a student then send the student to the health office. Maintain social distancing of six (6) feet when interacting with the student.

Health Office

If you see a student with these symptoms in your health office.  Immediately place a surgical mask on them and separate them from others.  Please contact the parent or guardian and ask if within the past 14 days before the onset of symptoms if there has been either residence/travel to a location in which COVID-19 is present or if the student has had close contact with a person suspected to have COVID-19.  Refer to CDC travel site for risk areas of COVID-19 at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html
If we get an affirmative answer to the questions about exposure:

  • Immediately place the student in a separate room with the door closed.
  • Call the district nurse immediately for further directions.
  • Notify your site administrator.
  • Please remember to be discrete and confidential.
