Engaging Young Minds for Limitless Futures.
Menifee Union School District
March 20, 2020

Dear Menifee Union School District Community,

As you are all too aware, the COVID-19 crisis continues to evolve and has impacted each of us both at home and at work. Unfortunately we do not expect these emergency conditions to get better any time soon.  As such, Governor Newsom has issued a “stay at home” order for the entire state of California in an effort to stem transmission of the virus.  We in the Menifee Union School District understand the unique challenges our students, staff and families face during this critical time and have taken steps to develop a number of learning related activities that can safely be engaged while at home.

Thanks to our Education Services team we have developed a plan with guidelines for every grade level TK-8 for use during the coming weeks.  These materials can be found on our District website Menifeeusd.org. These online engagement resources can be supplemented with hard copies that will be made available Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 8 am to noon at the District office located at 29775 Haun Rd., Menifee, CA.  MUSD teachers will have the opportunity to gain professional growth and development online through Google Classroom as we continue our efforts to develop grade level appropriate learning experiences, with both SPED and English Learner supports for the coming week.  Technology and Media Tech personnel will prepare site Chromebooks for distribution should you not have a working computer at home.  These Chromebooks will be limited to one per family, with specific check out procedures and responsibilities.

Our District administration will continue to monitor all available news sources to keep our community informed as the current situation changes.  You are encouraged to check our District web site often for regularly updated information.  We thank you for your efforts you will engage at home as we work together to provide meaningful learning opportunities for all of our students in these challenging times. Together we are making a difference for children, by supporting their learning, and emotional well-being.  We will get through this challenge together. We are Menifee USD!

Sincerely,

Dr. Steve Kennedy, Superintendent
