Q: Who will teach at this school?

A: Teachers will be selected from the current Menifee USD teaching staff, based on their interest and qualifications for online learning.

Q: What will be the daily schedule?

A: Students can expect daily synchronous and asynchronous instruction every school day.

Q: Is this a real school?

A: Yes! This is a public school, recognized by the California Department of Education, meant for students whose families wish for them to learn in a virtual setting. Students will be enrolled in the Menifee Virtual School instead of their home school.

Q: What if we change our mind?

A: We do ask for your commitment for the entire year at this school. If you have concerns, please discuss with administration.

Q: Will my child be able to receive their Special Education services at this school?

A: Students with IEPs and Section 504 plans may be able to be appropriately served at the virtual school. Each student's needs will be looked at individually by the student’s IEP team or Section 504 team to determine if the IEP or Section 504 plan can be materially implemented as written, or appropriately revised, to provide a free appropriate public education within the virtual school setting. Please contact your child's case manager to schedule an IEP team or Section 504 team meeting.

Q: What will the school year be?

A: The virtual school will follow the same calendar as all other Menifee USD schools. School year calendars can be found on the District website

Q: What will the curriculum be? Will there be enrichment?

A: The virtual school will use the same Board adopted, standards aligned curriculum as the rest of the district. There will be many opportunities for enrichment, including STEAM activities, career exploration, and more!

Q: Which electives will be available at the middle school level?

A: MUSD is unable to confirm course availability until enrollment needs and staffing is determined.

Q: Is my child required to attend the in-person sessions?

A: No. There will be in-person opportunities available to help enrich your child’s learning, but we will not make them a requirement.

Q: Does my child need to transfer schools to attend the virtual school?

A: Yes. To be a part of the Menifee Virtual School, your child will need to transfer from their home school to the Menifee Virtual School.
