o Fluency and writing page
o All assigned math from the practice book stapled to packet
o 2 Spelling activities stapled to the packet

Language Arts:
- Your child should spend a minimum of 15 minutes per day with a book. This might be your child reading, you or someone else reading to your child, or reading together. The paper books that come home from school are perfect to read during this time!
- A new fluency story will be sent home as part of the homework every week. These stories start out very basic, but will build with difficulty as we introduce new phonics concepts. Have your child read this passage out loud and log the number of words read correctly in one minute. If your child finishes the passage before the minute is up, have them begin the story again.
- High Frequency /World Words- Your child should practice reading these words daily.
- Every week there will be a writing page sent home as part of the homework. This page should have a minimum of three sentences and a picture to go along with it.
Math:
- Your child should complete the assigned math pages from the Practice Book we sent home with you on Back-to-School night.
- After completing these pages, please tear them out of the book and staple them to the back of the homework packet sent home on Monday.
