Welcome to 3rd grade!

We, the third grade teachers, are looking forward to an exciting educational year with your child.  Third grade is a year of wonderful growth. Our partnership is essential to ensure your child’s success.  We have very high expectations for each of our students and work hard to teach them all how to achieve. 

To become a confident, successful student, each child needs to discover how to learn.  Each student comes with his or her own individual way of learning, likes and dislikes, and experiences.  Our job is to build on these experiences, tapping into their likes and learning styles, and helping them move forward.  We have found when students are interested, they work harder and learn more. 

The California State Standards are the basis for what we teach.  We expect each student to meet a year’s worth of growth during our school year.  That means the learning starts with the first day.
