Menifee Union School District

Dear Parents:

The Menifee Union School District’s (MUSD) Wellness Policy (BP 5030) was written in response to legislation (Child Nutrition Act) to encourage a healthy diet and lifestyle for all Menifee Union School District students. This policy stems from recognition that childhood obesity is becoming a prevalent issue in our community and a belief that foods and beverages available to students at school should support the health curriculum and promote optimal health.

Obesity can lead to other health conditions in youth such as Type 2 Diabetes, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, and high blood pressure. It's important to recognize the signs of these conditions as they can usually go undetected for many years before damage to the internal organs occurs.
